About the Program
The International Year One in Business Management is designed for international students who want to progress to the second year of a relevant undergraduate degree at Sheffield Hallam University. The programme develops foundational knowledge in business management while strengthening academic English, research, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving and independent-learning skills. Students explore areas including business fundamentals, organisational change, technology, marketing, supply chain and operations management, and professional practice.

Academic requirements
- For Bangladesh:
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC): 65%
- Other accepted routes may include:
- Successful completion of a recognised foundation programme
- International Baccalaureate: minimum 22 points
- Other recognised equivalent qualifications
English Language Requirements
- IELTS Academic with Minimum Score 5.5 overall
- Minimum 5.5 in each component
- Equivalent English language qualifications accepted
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of International Year One is required for progression
- Progression is normally to Year 2 of the selected undergraduate degree
- Strong communication and analytical skills are beneficial
- Academic English and professional skills are developed throughout the pathway
