Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc By University of Bradford — OIEG Pathway Partner via UBIC

About the Program

Advanced mechanical engineering covering modelling, solid mechanics, powertrain, materials and engineering research.

Subject Requirements

  • Normally a second-class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.

Academic requirements

  • For a typical UK 2:2-equivalent postgraduate entry from Bangladesh: a 4-year Bachelor's degree from a UGC-approved university with around CGPA 2.5/4.0 or 60%. A 3-year Bachelor's may be considered with at least 4 years relevant post-degree work experience. Course-specific subject requirements may be higher.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5, or accepted equivalent. For 2026 entrants Bradford also accepts Duolingo 110 overall with at least 100 in each subscore, Oxford ELLT 6 overall with minimum 5 in each section, and other approved tests. Some programmes may require a higher score.

Additional Requirements

  • IMPORTANT BANGLADESH STATUS: The University of Bradford has temporarily paused applications from self-funded postgraduate taught students from Bangladesh for upcoming intakes and is not continuing existing self-funded PGT applications that have not reached CAS stage. This does not affect fully sponsored students, undergraduate applicants, PhD applicants, students progressing from UBIC, or students who already have a CAS. For eligible January 2027 applicants from Bangladesh, the CAS deposit is £10,000 and the deposit/CAS-document deadline is 30 November 2026. Eligible full-time on-campus self-funded PGT students would normally receive the £2,200 60th Anniversary Scholarship automatically, subject to the recruitment pause being lifted and scholarship eligibility.
