About the Program
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering BEng at the University of Leicester is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to develop technical knowledge and practical skills in electrical and electronic systems. The course covers electrical engineering principles, digital electronics, communications, power electronics, control systems, electric machines, programming and sustainable energy technologies. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, engineering design projects and industry-related activities. The programme prepares graduates for careers in renewable energy, telecommunications, automation, aerospace, electronics and electrical power engineering.
Subject Requirements

- A-Levels: BBB including Mathematics
- International Baccalaureate: 28 points including HL Mathematics Grade 5
- BTEC Engineering: DDM including Further Mathematics at Distinction
- Bangladesh HSC: Direct Year 1 eligibility not confirmed; individual assessment required
- Bangladesh 3-Year Bachelor's: Good grades may be considered for Year 1 entry
- Alternative pathway: Engineering with Foundation Year BEng
English Language Requirements
- IELTS Academic: Overall 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each component
- PTE Academic: Overall 59, minimum 59 in each component
- TOEFL iBT (pre-21 January 2026 scale): Overall 80, subject to component requirements
- Other English Tests: Accepted subject to university equivalency rules
