Postgraduate research programme in Architecture (Practice-Based, based on an original supervised research project leading to a thesis and the development of advanced independent research skills.
Subject Requirements
The proposed research topic must fit the School's research expertise and available supervision
a relevant academic background is required. Some Schools expect prior research training or a relevant Master's.
Academic requirements
Normally at least a UK Upper Second-Class (2:1) Honours degree or an equivalent qualification acceptable to Queen's. Bangladeshi qualifications are assessed against the University's country equivalencies
a relevant Master's may be required/advantageous depending on the research area.
English Language Requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall
normally minimum 6.0 in Speaking and Listening and 5.5 in Reading and Writing for the 2026 Architecture route.
Additional Requirements
A suitable supervisor/research fit is essential. A research proposal is required and some projects may carry bench fees or specific funding/technical requirements.
