Durham University is one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities and a member of the Russell Group. Founded in 1832, it is England's third-oldest university after Oxford and Cambridge. Durham combines a strong academic reputation with a distinctive collegiate system, where students become members of one of its colleges and benefit from academic, social, sporting and cultural opportunities.
